A lovely country house in a totally peaceful situation on the edge of an historic village, with glorious southerly views over its own six acres of meadows and with the rest of France beyond. There is no traffic at all in front of the house ( and none behind or beside it for that matter ).
La Serpate is the name given to a little no-through-road in the village of St Sulpice d'Excideuil. The village has a fine Medieval church, a bar, a small general store and a post office. The nearest larger shops are in Excideuil (8km) and Thiviers (9km). Here we are in what is called the Perigord Vert, which is the most unspoilt and truly pastoral part of the Dordogne.
The lane leading to the house serves a total of 4 houses To make the situation all the more quiet, the house is down a short drive and it faces south in order to take advantage of the lovely views from all of the rooms and from the terrace.
The house which we offer to let for holidays is very well-insulated and fully double-glazed. 2012 will be its ninth year of being let. The accommodation which it provides is of an altogether higher standard than one might expect to find in the French countryside.
On the next page of this website, " Details " we will tell you more about the accommodation in the house and something about the region.
